I found a ring with a date inscribed inside the band. I'm assuming a wedding band. Does anyone know of a good free site to look up the date to try to find who may have lost it? No way to tell where the marriage took place, so, it could be any state or country for that matter. Is there a free database anywhere where state wedding dates are combined so I don't have to search each state?

I haven't been able to find anything like that. My wife researches everything I find with a name or date with ZERO luck. She even reaches out to Craig's list posts of something sounds close.

One could start with the demographics where the ring was found.

Get a name, then search a local demographic.

You dont know if you don’t try.

I do that too. I just thought I would try the closest areas first. I figured once I got a list (however long it may be) I could then pick and choose which ones would be the most likely. The websites I see all want the names of the people. If I knew that, my research would almost be done! :hello2:. I know having just a date is going to be a chore, but, I figured I'd try anyway. I would imagine others here have tried the same thing and here's hoping they have some useful info to give me.
