Well my detecting buddy Don and I went out to one of our old spots and came away with some goodies. Total of 14 wheats, 7 silvers, and a ton of older clad and nickels. The pics below are my share of the silver digs. 51, 59, and 64 Roosies. A 1963 Quarter. The 51 Roosie has seen some abuse, I didn't do that digging it. The Obverse of the Quarter has some faint lines across it, I am wondering if it was maybe in a change purse or something. Anyways, we had a ton of fun! ;D

Nice silver Rich. That 51 looks like it been run over a few times. It's always nice to get silver in any form. Keep up the good work. Even the silver from the 60's is getting hard to find.

That was a great day of MDing Rich.

You do a great job with the pics. What is your technique? Scanner, high end camera? Whatever you do the photos are well lit, high in detail and a pleasure to look at.

Thanks on the comments. I use a Cannon A520 Digital Camera. I was still experimenting with the technique. The quarter has the right lighting. I took the pic using the macro mode with the flash from about a foot and a half away zoomed in on the coin. I shot it at a slight angle so the flash would not reflect back directly at the camera. With the pics of the dimes I used a flood light off to the side, but the pics came out with an orange tint. I will be using the method that I used on the quarter from now on. ;D

Thanks for the reply about the photo techniques.

Natural sunlight works for small objects but it is not always convenient.

Keep those pics coming.
