I found a 1973 Half with some weird damage. It has a bump, kind of like a wart. At first, I figured it was solder or something melted on the coin, but upon further inspection, the details of the die imprint are still visible on the raised portion. You can see the feathers from the eagle's wing, as well as the lines and stars behind the eagle, all on the raised portion. On the obverse, there is no damage on the corresponding spot (right above the T in "IN GOD WE TRUST").
However, there is another 'wart' on Kennedy's nose. Again, no damage on the corresponding reverse spot (the olive branch held by the eagle). If you look closely, you can see a small outline of his nose.
So two warts in two unrelated places on the coin.
Any ideas what this is?
