Today I had some errands to run and some family to visit, but I was able to manage about an hour or so at two different sites. I had some pretty big motivation after all the great posts going up lately, so I tried roughly half an hour on a beat site that had just been replowed and another half an hour on a site that I have hit a couple times and there have been signs that had been plowed this past spring.
I managed an 1861 Nova Scotia cent and a pretty grotty George II which looks like a 1734 along with the other usual colonial finds. I'm hoping there'll be a few more finds from these sites.

Every find this time of year is awesome, it could come to a screeching halt by the weatherman over night
Having colonial sites still giving up finds keeps them alive for one more go!

That's for sure, we never know when the dreaded white stuff is going to show up. The site with the george II hasn't been hit very hard at all, it's a soybean field this year and flat as a pancake so it's got potential!

A G II and a Nova Scotia, I'd call that a good hunt, congrats.

Swinging in bean fields getting old coppers is alright, beats trying it in standing corn and digging nothing.

Only 1 hour, I'd say pretty good too.

Well that site could give up anything...at least you managed an hour or so with some descent finds...hope we can get out shortly for another hunt...

I'm surely not complaining, I dug quite a few targets in the second half hour. I would have liked to stay longer, but it was getting close to dark and the wife was sitting in the jeep waiting, so I couldn't press my luck!

Saw a few flakes flying around this morning so we're likely running out of time, hopefully we can find a spot that'll let us keep up with all the button posts lately! :laughing7:

Ahhh wife in the jeep, I guess you were pushing you luck at that. Get back out there.
