Mudslide and I spend the day metal detecting and found some nice finds today.

I found quite a few bottles and Mudslie also found some great bottles and gave them to me. On top of that I found white milk glass lids, some odds and ends and a $10.00! I was so happy to be able to find all of these today and would like to go back with shovels and move some of the dirt away.

Mudslide found a cool cap gun and wheat pennies! ;D

Some of the bottles are:

Atlas Strong Shoulder Mason Jar
Kreml
Listerine Lambert Pharmacal Co
Windex
The Bayer Co Div
Pepsi-Cola
Vernors
Hygrade Beverage
Large Brown Bottles: "Federal Law Forbids Sale Or Re-Use of Thsi Bottle 4/5 Quart" and has an anchor symbol on the bottom of each

Milk glass lids by Ball,Kerr, Boyds Genuine Porcailan Lined Cap

Spoon, metal dish, and half of an old car

It was very difficult to carry all of this back to the car. lol Thank God Mudslide had strenght to help me get them back.

Pennyworth, I have that exact same bottle in the upper left corner of the first pic, the one with the double handles. Does your say "Penick & Ford, Ltd" on the bottom? If so, it's an old syrup bottle. Not valuable or rare, but pretty cool anyway. I like the Pepsi bottle and a $10.00 bill is fun to find anyday! HH!

Treasurekidd, yes my bottle does have Penick & Ford Ltd Inc on the bottom. I just like the style of it,and thought it might be a syrup bottle. Now you have confirmed it for me. :)

I am having some difficulty getting some of the inside of the bottles clean. I soaked them yesterday for about a half hour in some soapy water, but need some ideas as to what I can use to get into the taller bottles to clean them. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Was looking around, saw this, a possibility.

I'm sure many of you have bottles that need to be cleaned. If there is
only dirt and debris in the bottle just wash it out with warm water and
if you need to get abraision use rice, copper bb shot, or sand (swish the
water around inside). If there is very light hazing in the bottle that
won't clean-up try Muriatic Acid, let the bottle sit in a full strength
solution for several days - this won't hurt the bottle. A stronger
solution is Wink (rust remover) I would dillute this a little and don't
leave on over 20 min. Lime Away is good for removing white calcium
deposits and other minerals.

Just be careful w/muriatic acid.

Muriatic acid is a highly reactive liquid acid, and one of the most dangerous chemicals you can buy for home use. It is an industrial-strength solution of hydrogen chloride gas dissolved in water, also known as hydrochloric acid. Yep, muriatic acid is "super stomach acid"!

With the exception of some plastics, muriatic acid can damage most anything it touches, including clothing, metal, and skin! It emits a suffocating odor that can quickly burn the lining of the nose, throat and even the lungs.

Thanks Stoney, I might try rice, sand or Lime Away. I've decided to soak them for a few days and see if that helps. I'll pass on the acid as I KNOW I'm not that carefull. lol
