No, I know you're right! Just wondering why so many in a small area and what they may have been used for. Our house is the only one that had been built here since the last one 200 years ago so all of these finds are interesting. I've a great collection of old horse and oxen shoes too!

I'd say something to do with chaining up something to a post or maybe for plowing,

maybe oxen, or horses,??

Looks like tractor tail attachments for hookin up a rake or plow and the like,but so many?? Strange. But not as painful as diggin 10 holes 2ft deep!! LOL--good luk==resurector

I'd guess they were at one time attached to short posts with a chain running through them to outline the perimeter of the graveyard. Jim
