Im on my 6th year of goin to Ocean City MD for vacation and Im only using the standard coil for my xterra 50. I was wondering what other coil would be better for the beach, so that I can increase my chances of actually finding something good this . Im looking at the Minelab Xterra Series 10.5" D.D. 18.75kHz round coil, but its really difficult to understand why this one would be better for the beach. Can someone please help

The 18.75 kHz coil is very sensitive to small gold. It will pick up gold chains, ear rings etc. that other coils will miss. Go to www.findmall.com and look at the X-Terra section. At the top is the FAQFAQ post. It explains beach hunting with the X-Terra better than any other post I have seen anywhere. I have not hunted at the beach with my 70 yet, so I'm really not in a position to try to be the expert. Read the post that I referred you to and you will be way ahead before even getting to the beach. It covers all other types of detecting with the X-Terra also.

Good hunting, John K
