Hi I'm new here, my first post. My husband and I were at a friends house for a cookout and while out walking their property saw what we think was petrified wood. Our friends had no interest in it and told us we could get all that we wanted. We got about 4 large pieces and 4-5 smaller pieces. It all came from within a 3 foot radius.

So what do you think, petrified wood and what do you think they are worth?
(fingers crossed I got the pictures loaded)

Edited to say that this one is probably between 50-60 pounds

Definitely petrified wood... The big piece reminds me of the stuff i would find in North Dakota... Very nice specimen. The big one maybe get around a fifty cents up to maybe two dollars a pound. But if it was mine it wouldnt be for sale anyway...
Nice chalcedony/quartz vein in it too!!!
