Re: what kind of treasure huntind do you do?

So far all of my treasure hunting has been on land but am thinking seriously about shipwreck diving in the future.
My number one passion is Gold prospecting! But I like hunting for treasure of all kinds, lost mines, lost cache's,etc.
I'm also a rockhound I collect rocks, gems,& minerals and will pick up old bottles and relics that I come across while prospecting. I also like metal detecting for lost items of value, coins, rings, relics, etc. Not so much for the money,( I donate most of it to charity anyway)but for the adventure. I love the outdoors and hiking and camping are in my nature. When I retire I'm heading for the mountains with my donkey to prospect and live until my time on this world is completed.
Of course I may be 90 before I retire.

Happy Hunting,
Buddy~

Geez you know not that many of us here would not check the MD'ing.

But it has some who prefer to distinguish their effors also. Ran into a few puritans in my time.
So I breakdown md'ing as follows:
old coin
relic
jewelry
beach
park
demo/construction
targets of opportunity

I've run into some who would not chase carnies as I've enjoyed doing, some who would not hunt modern sites and of course the specialists in each area usually prevail in those areas. I like to get around to all the above, but as such do not invest the time it takes to master any one. But then again I'm having fun!

Re: what kind of treasure huntind do you do?

Dumpster diving provides lots of treasures. Computer parts have precious metals, reusable furniture for my garage/yard sales, some old things boardering on antiques. Dumpster diving provides a study income for some people. I know one man that clears twenty grand a year on top of his retirement, under the table income. Any questions?

What is dumpster diving? I thought that was what homeless people do.
Homeless people only do it for food and clothing. The rest of us are serious!

Re: what kind of treasure huntind do you do?

Until I can come up with the extra cash and time, I'm left out of the MDing, BUT, I still get out as often as I can and look for arrowheads or fossils...There is something almost mystical about holding a stone tool in your hand or finding a dino tooth or claw as you walk thru the woods...I think that the greatest treasure I've ever found, besides TreasureNet..lol..has been the peace and serenity I get from being out in the natural world...

metal detecting
garage sales (mostly for pez, but my dad looks for stuff that might be old and valuable)

It's all good, gets you off the couch and keeps your mind working.

Must be a bad case of cabin fever. All these old posts are coming back up.

Please can someone explain what "pez" means. Am in the UK and it's a new word for me. Thanks

I like every kind of treasure hunting, but caches are my fav. Meteorite hunting is lots of fun, too.
