Ok. I don't remember them looking like this after you separated and cleaned them back in that thread. So I assume they turned while you stored them. I have no idea why they turned, but to have counterfeits with differing dates found in the same place seems unlikely.

Yes, they actually seemed to have cleaned better first time around? :dontknow:
They have "turned" while being stored for sure. Maybe it was the water? We use different types here, RO, well, cistern.

The weight check should reveal all!

I know it's a bit late now but I wonder just how accurately they were weighed back when they were made?! Just a thought. What tolerances were suitable way back when?

GOOD OLD LEMON JUICE!!!!!
CLEANED OFF WHAT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN SURFACE GUNK!!

They look real to me.... but hell I'm no expert at all. But I can tell ya who rode the horse's when I find there lost and broken shoes.

BVI.... Just curious and PM if you feel like responding instead of posting here. If real.... Are there a lot of these type coins on the market? Are they worth a lot? Or like all coins maybe a key date or mint mark makes one real valuable. I'm just curious... Brad

Not sure of the value? Not much I don't think ?
Maybe some one else could chime in?

You'd like to think anything that old would be worth a LOT. But heck if that was true some of these Chinese coins would be worth a ton. But there's to many of them. Anyway I was just curious about one's like you found. Maybe a key date or mint mark would make 1 very valuable like other coins. Maybe someone will know....

BVI-Since you were going to weigh them to see if they were possibly fax,can you throw them on a scale so we have some idea of what the weight tolerances on REAL ones should be?
Just a thought!

Whow! I never expected there to be that much difference! That is scaled in grams I suppose?
