Were the flounder oily? :icon_scratch: I sure hope not. :D

Sounds good RR. Been years since I had a good flounder. And, may be years before I get another good one. :-\

Enjoy.

Re: What's For Dinner?

Ya know, I was just thinkin' of this thread while on another site, and was thinkin' that some folks have reasons and rules of what they can and cannot eat; ie. allergies, vegans, religious tenets, etc.
What are some restrictions that you know of and what are some good meals/recipes following these restrictions?

Hope all ate well tonight,
Scott

When I was a kid the only meat on Fridays was fish ....

Well, when I was comin' up, Granny Dear, Fish was good ANY night!
Summertimes, my Pap an I would go catfishin' on the "Waukie"(Waukarusa River located primarily in south Douglas County, Kansas....Kansa Indian for "Knee Deep") an we'd come home with an hour's worth of catfish skinin' most nights.
I'd go collect grasshoppers in the field in the afternoon behind the house and ketch frogs(Leopard frogs=rana pipiens) along the river bank after dark, all for use as bait for the elusive channel cats, blue cats, and yellow cats.
Most times, I'd outcatch my Pap. Used to aggravate him to no end...

MMMMMM. Catfish dinners....Ya know, I miss them days...

Best,
Scott

AH, competition!
The first, the biggest, the most!
I love competition. But, when it comes to feedin' yo Momma, your sister an' yo Daddy, the only winner is the one who ketches ENOUGH!

Very Best To All,
Scott

Re: What's For Dinner?

OK, Here's tonight's line-up...
Home-made vegetable beef stew with carrots, potatoes, barley, corn and peas. Also fresh cauliflower, colby cheese, a jalepeno, two slices of bread and butter with garlic and for dessert,
it's 4-5 plums and a ripe Georgia peach!
Oh, and a tall glass of "moo juice."

Best,
Scott

Re: What's For Dinner?

Pork shoulder sliced inch thick crosswise , rubbed with my special dry rub (paprika , brown sugar , garlic and ground hot pepper are part of it ) . Slow smoked in my sidebox grill with hickory and wild cherry for 2 hrs at 200 degrees then wrapped in foil and finished in a 350 degree oven until tender .
Portabella mushrooms marinated for a day in Italian dressing and stuck in the same oven until done .
Salad of fresh lettuce , green onions , peppers (all from the garden) , some cheese and a dressing of choice .
Can't wait until the 'maters start ripening and then we'll have a real feast .
