Re: What's For Dinner?

I just cut up a chicken. Gonna cook the breast and pick the meat off and make a big pot of chicken and dumplings, smashed taters, peas, bread and butter and a big glass of Iced tea. Plums for dessert.
The rest of the chicken, the thighs, drumsticks and wings, will go on the grill tommorrow with some cheese brats.

Best Wishes,
Scott

That sounds delicious Scott

I made breakfast for lunch, fried potato's and egg, cheese and mayo on toast.

Haven't figured out what to cook for dinner yet, my wife, son and daughter are staying at my wife's sisters this evening so I will be cooking for one. :dontknow:

Change of plans; the smashed taters bcame stuffing and the peas turned into sliced beets.
Otherwise, the menu stays the same.

Best,
Scott

I fed many of the wife's family on grilled steaks that had been marinated for two days , fresh garden produce , and the beverage of their choice .
4 hr power outage made things difficult , but we managed .
Been so busy catchin up here that I haven't even eaten , yet .

I agree. :icon_thumright:

Can't cook without it. ;D

You're COOKING?
With the Beer?
Son, you DRINK the Beer and you B.S. the Cooking part.
Any Questions?

Scott

Not cooking "with" it. That's what the seasoning is for. Indirect heat all the way. Meat is better when slow cooked and gives you more time to drink beer. ;D

Joe, tried to send PM but your inbox is full. Recipe below. Enjoy. :)

Beef Strognoff

2 pounds hamburger meat
1 family size can cream of mushroom soup
8-12 oz. sour cream
12 oz. pkg. egg noodles
Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste

Brown your meat with all of the seasonings and drain well. Put back into skillet and add the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream and more Italian seasoning. The amount of sour cream all depends on the thickness you like. Mix well and bring to a simmer. Cook the egg noodles according to the directions and drain well. You can serve it over the egg noodles or mix it all together ahead of time.

Re: What's For Dinner?

The wife and kids are down at our new/old home getting the kids registered for school so I'm still here packing up 10 years of accumulation. :tongue3: One more week.

I guess tonite will be leftover grilled shoulder roast sliced thin on toasted bread with mayo and some chips. :)

Or, maybe I'll be lazy and eat the rest of the stroganoff heated in the microwave. :D

Re: What's For Dinner?

Wife and kids are still at the new/old home so I'm not so sure about tonite. :-\

May be poke and grit for me. :(

Then again there's corn dogs in the freezer.

And plenty of beer in the cooler. :hello2: Not to cook with of coarse.

Had some sardines that said "Best before Oct. 2008" that I thought I should feed on.
Tasted good still!
Coke and some crackers go well with this meal.
