Re: What's For Dinner?

What Hoppins Skillet ,
My health conscious wife that wants me to live forever and die of boredom is gone for the weekend .
Found a medium onion in the veggie box , humongus sweet pepper in the fridge along with a large container of fresh eggs and several cheeses and a dab of milk .
Diced the onion and pepper and a can of Spam . While they were sauteeing I mixed 5 eggs , a dollop of milk and a handful of cheese .
When the onion was transparent I dumped that mix in and cooked and stirred to semi dry .
Cleaned up the kitchen and washed all the dishes .
Thought I had gotten away with this until the 'Speaker of the House' called me just a bit ago and
asked :"Hey , Grandpa ; What was for supper ?"...........................
Never could lie to that lady so I'm in trouble again .

Sea salt is not iodized and highly overrated . Spam has enough salt to negate adding more in a one skillet dish .
Tomorrow I will wear my moccasins and work in the house rather than try to shove my swelled feet into cowboy boots .

Re: What's For Dinner?

What ever happened to the beans and wienies TV dinners?
Came with corn bread and apple crisp. Tasted good and was CHEAP.
'course that was before Mr. Litton came out with microwave cookers.

Tonight is chili dogs. Again.
Hope I run out of chili soon.
Tomorrow - Slug Soup.
My kids loved it and still do.

Re: What's For Dinner?

There must be something wrong with wieners in anything commercially prepared. My wife can't find Spaghetti O's with hot dogs anymore. So she just buys the regular spaghetti O's and puts her own sliced wienies in it. Maybe someone ought to look this up, maybe they just found out that eating this crap was hazardous to our health..........GNE :P

Leftover steak and taters. :tongue3:

Wife coked some mushroom rice and bread sticks to go with it so it wouldn't seem so much like leftovers. :D

Sure wish my tomatoes would get ripe. I'm dying for a tomatoe sandwich. :)

Re: What's For Dinner?

Slug Soup
2 boxes rice-a-roni (Chicken)
1/2 lb chicken (diced - looks like slugs)
1/2 lb pork diced
4 whole fresh mushrooms diced
2 cans mushroom soup
Saute meat and put in big pot
brown rice with butter and add to pot
Add soup and shrooms and simmer for a long time
Use less water at first then add as needed for rice to get not crunchy
Serve with home made bread
Feeds 3 hungry boys with a little leftover for parents
Pretty cheap too

baspinall - looks like mighty good Mexican food for a Pa. guy. If you lived
closer, I'd gladly bring a case of Dos Equis for just a plate of those.
Showed the wife & now she wants me to make them. Oh well.
