Just got an Explorer SE with a stock 8" coil.
I want to get the highly rated 11" DD coil, but Minelab is going through
management adjustments and everything is on back-order. :help:

Question: Should I just wait for Minelab to start shipping the 11" coils again,
or go with one of the third-party coils, like an SEF coil.
If so which one? :icon_scratch: Kellyco offers:
The 10x12-inch DD Butterfly
or the
12.5" DD EXcelerator?

Any advice would be appreciated.

In that situation I would only buy an after maket coil if I could afford the stock coil on top of it once it was finally available. And if I did purchase one it would be something larger than 11". (If you're the type who likes large coils) Not much point in getting two close to the same. If buying two isn't an option I'd wait.

I have a friend on here that just got a new SE and is looking for an older style stock coil. If he happens to find one right away I know he would sell you his new SE pro coil. You guys actually might be able to cut a deal if you give him a week or so to figure things out. It would still be a bit of a wait for you, but at least it would be a guaranteed delivery time.

Thanks, IP.

I just heard that the Minelab engineers put a LOT of time into making
that SE Pro and 11" DD work well together, so I think that is my first option.

Well, pay-day is in one week.
Let's see what happens in the interim. :dontknow:
