Whites DFX.

Sorry for not being involved in this thread as of late. I've been sick as a dog the last few days. I definitely want a DFX.

The DFX a good detector and was the flagship for White's for a very long time. It's never been known for great depth. The best distance I can get with an air test running it hot was 13" on a US quarter. This doesn't really mean anything either because: 1. You could never run it that hot in the field. 2. Air test distance equates to approx. 60% actual detecting distance under perfect conditions. So depth capability for a DFX normally is around 8".

spectrum is exactly the same machine as the 300 just with a different name .get the 12 in coil and you have a 300.your going to love the dfx if your a whites man.found a 1809 large cent at 12 in,military button at 10 in.just take the time to learn it and you will love it.

Here in my soil, South FL the DFX goes down to 12" on a quarter in my test garden with the PA gain at 4 and sens at 75 with a custom program. On the salty sand beach it goes down to 10" on a nickel with the PA at 3 sens 76, and the 9.5" coil all day. Away from EMI the DFX is a very nice machine, very versatile and gives great information using the graph. However it is sensitive to EMI.

Sorry I hadn't been on the site in a while because I had a lot going on in my life this year. I also decided not to get another White's detector because I want to try something new to me. I have always either used a White's or a Garrett detector but this time I want to try something new.

Going to step out on a limb and say.. You'll be back! ;-) Greener grass and all...

Yeah I probably will but I just want to try another brand of detector for a while to see how they match up because all I've ever used is White's and Garrett.
