was out with new hunting partnerWhydah on Cape Cod
went to a few beaches looking for gold and I got that too - but thats a different story
this was NOT the same place that I have been getting all the musketballs in the water
I have over the years gotten a few musketballs here also but never expected this
find - USA contenental Rev war button
when I looked in my scoop - i thought I had a blackened nickel
picked it up and rubbed it between my thumb and forefinger (wish i hadnt - I think I broke off part of edge doing that)
I felt nub from shank and said "wow - a flat button"
now i was in about 5 feet of water with my mask on - I flipped it over and saw squigly line and thought it was
rope of a fouled anchor and thought I might have a navy button - pulled mask up to see it better
and was shocked to see USA on the face - bonus find for the day
and cross one off of wish list

Oh I found 2 gold rings at this spot too during AM low tide - one being a 1926 class ring
Oh and I went to another beach for PM low tide and found 2 more gold rings
will post those later separately

Continental button has been on my wish list since 1975
it will not be sold - it will go in my coffee table display case

Man whata find......And what I'd give to find one'o those.....HH

What an incredible find to make while hunting in the ocean. If that button could talk imagine the stories it could tell. WHAT A PIECE OF HISTORY! I don't know of any Treasure Hunter that ever found a USA Rev War button in the ocean. CONGRATS, Casper. My vote is a BANNER find!
