Why sell coins for less than the metal value?

Fred,

The guys are obviiously working an angle somewhere. You have to ask yourself how much silver is in the coin. Is it 90% silver like US silver coinage? Does it weigh less than a standard US silver coin? If the value is there in the coin then they are making their money somewhere else like shipping/handling charges, packaging, their "beautiful display case", etc.

If it is too good to be true ...

That makes sense.
One time back in my drinking days I bought some knives from them because I was drunk,
Managed to double my money selling them all at once on ebay but later found out I could have acquired them for about half what I paid :-\

Haha, my uncle says he gets stuff in the mail at random sometimes because he forgets that he was one drunk one night and randomly ordered the stuff off eBay. Haha, he never has any idea why he bought the stuff either.
