Why Wheat Pennies?

WHeats selkl for 3 cents for plain ones, versus 1.6 cents for copper memorials. And older ones go for much much more. But ALL wheats sell for at least 3 cents. And they are at least 53 years old. :-)

Wheat has more nutritional value than copper.

And they are also old and old coins are cool coins.

They'll still be around in a 100 years unlike the shield Lincoln pennies.

i look for wheats because unless you get a solid 2011 or 2012 box.. you always can find something unlike some skunky half boxes of double skunky quarter boxes

Minimal investment in terms of dollars, but the same thrill of the hunt.

I do pennies whenever halves have been particulary bad. Kind of like a confidence booster. In this hobby you need those pick me ups. Filling the blue book penny holes is cool too.
