My buddy and I did four 2-hour hunts on Wildwood beaches this past weekend, morning and evening hunts. It was too hot and too crowded to hunt during the peak beach hours. We found the usual stuff and did lousy in the wet sand, as usual. However, I did pretty good in the dry sand and found some silver in the area where sand had been piled from under the boardwalk. On Saturday morning I found 2 Mercury dimes where the sand had been spread out and on Sunday morning I found one more and a wheat penny, too. There was also quite alot of clad coins, memorial pennies, tokens, etc. No jewelry, unfortunately.

Here's the Mercs:

Nice finds.

I've only found one Mercury dime at the beach on the east coast of Florida.

Those came out beautiful. Keep looking there for the rest.

Debbie,

Woody and his wife and his sister were there. The only other club member there was Randy with his wife and little boy. We didn't actually hunt together on the beach. They were mostly in the wet sand. Woody found a couple earrings, one was silver. I don't think Randy found too much, at least he didn't have much to show when we met back at the cars. We all quit about 11:00 or so. They all went up on the boardwalk to get something to eat. I guess they all had a good time. How are things in Florida?

Nice Mercs Bob!! Glad to see that area's still producing.....That area should keep producing the occassional oldie from time to time.....the wetsand has been a bit tough.....I have been working as far as I can get out in the surf and I found a couple of silver rings.....but overall.....the beach is pretty sanded in.....hopefully that will change a bit after Friday....HH....Brian
