I haven’t had much luck lately, got a 1918 wheat yesterday and a 1964 Rosie maybe 3-4 days ago which was my first silver coin of 2020.

Today, I hunted an old park, wasn’t getting much, lots of zincolns and a ton of pull tabs, I think I ended up getting 50 of them. Wasn’t getting anything old and this park is bowl shaped with very steep sides. Well, I found an old tree at the top on one side with only bare dirt around it. Got a nice nickel tone and I look down and partially sticking out of the dirt is a 1909 V nickel! Less than a foot away at 1/2” is my second nickel tone and was an 1889 V nickel. I dug every signal around that tree and added 3 more V nickels to make 5!!! The dates on the others were: 1900,1904,1906. I’m not sure if they were from a club hunt or nobody digs nickel signals at that park but I always do bc I love nickels and the occasional gold ring. Oh yeah, under the same tree I found a very tiny broken silver earring but it’s marked 925 on the back!

I took a break from the park and hunted a curb strip that was no joke at least 60 degrees steep, I couldn’t even stand on it but had to stand on the road and swing at a very awkward angle that was tiresome. First good signal was an 11-45 and stuck in the roots was a 1903-O Barber dime! I was actually disappointed I hadn’t even found a wheat yet so I kept going until I eventually landed a 1957 Wheat and then called it a day!
