Howdy. So the first time I hunted this place (a 1920 house but the property has history back to 1850s-70s) was with a BH Quicksilver, found a few things... only one silver though and it was a rosie. I then upgraded to the ACE 300 and WOW. Over the past year or so I have pounded this place with my ACE, I dug a spill with a walking liberty, a handful of mercs, and another rosie or two in an iron filled area but every now and then I still go back to try for more and last night I pulled out yet another merc! Keep digging those loaded sites, there's always more!

Here's yesterdays finds:

Also, I never posted the other finds from this place, so here's a photo of a few of the other coins from a small area of this front yard, mostly right next to the stump of a huge old tree. Not pictured is an Indian, a dozen or two wheaties, and some neat relics:

Happy hunting all!

The pickings are getting slim but there's definitely more. The big green coin as an 1882 5 lepta, I believe it was my first "big copper."

What's up with pump organ reeds? I see you found one. I keep finding them too. Were pump organs portable or just super popular?

I've found at least 8 or 9 (probably more) at this place and a number of them at other places as well. They are definitely more portable and cheaper than a pipe organ but I know someone who has one and it would still be a hassle to move it. I mean, they were obviously pretty popular though given how often we find reeds but I still boggled at how many of them we find.

Congradulations on the finds. Once you find the first coin with a basic detector and upgrade. The books I read after upgrade suggested spending a little more money to avoid upgrade...dam its so true..lol.

Thanks and don't worry... I'll definitely be back out there. I'm just so darn busy lately I'm having a hard time getting out and digging.

Thanks to yall for the kind words! I'll definitely be back out there, there's so many nails and iron objects it's crazy. I'm thinking about just clearing the area and digging them all in case there's another silver with some nails or something sitting on top.
