Still one heck of a deal. You had also posted a picture of The Golden Crescent, thought oyu might have gotten lucky with that one in the mix as well.

Do you mind sharing how much you paid for it? That's my favorite cover (there are at least 3).

Good luck to all,

Wow! The Master Hunter Manual is worth more than that. And it's a good one!

Is the TotVoS cover green or did the photo change it from tan? Multi-colored pages?

Dulce!

Good luck to all,

I'm not that great with colors but I'd call it green, I asked my daughter and she said greenish whatever that is. Yes it has multi colored pages, white, yellow, and pinkish :dontknow:

Thank you! I've only seen copies with the tan covers. The multi-color pages are a strong clue that copy isn't a bootleg. No knock on you or the book - that's a heckofa buy! There are bootleg copies of most of KvonM's books out there - including a remarkably poor version of Sudden Wealth - a photocopy stapled pamphlet.

Good luck to all,

Five dollars. I already had the reprinted version but I thought that was a good deal.

This is the great book that got me interested in metal detecting in the 1980's:
When my signed copy of SEARCH arrived, for some reason, there was a clipping of his obituary with it. Mr. Warnke did so many important things that there was no mention of his being an author!

I would love to here your review of that one mdj. Nice score, thats one id like to have since I live down here. Congrats and nice collection !!
This is a compilation of treasure stories from the southwest. It's very detailed with descriptions of areas and packed with great and sometimes legendary stories. It was an interesting and fun read, but for me they were just more treasure stories, because I live hundreds of miles away from any of these areas. Personally I would rather have another KvonM book, one I don't have of course. It's a great book of course!...the areas just aren't close enough to me to get excited about.

Nearly 40 years ago, while visiting Hawaii, I picked up a pocket book entitled "Hawaii, an informal history" by Gettit P. Judd. At the end of the book the author added the Unpublished Journal of Laura Fish Judd; and on page 267, while she discussed the island of Massafuero (think Robinson Crusoe), she made this entry: "There is a pond of water on it, in which, they say a Spaniard threw a vast quantity of money on being pursued by an enemy. Large sums of gold have been got out but more remains." She goes on to say....."......the beach is strewed with fire arms." This was in reference to the Spanish and the pirates constantly contesting for the island.
Intriguing, but 'above my pay grade' to get there and investigate.
Don.....
PS: Laura's Journal was written during 1827-28.
