Just to enjoy the hobby but a few coins prior to 1900s sure would be nice.

Excellent post Scrappy. Here is what I hope that 2018 holds for me.

1.) Spend some time hunting with YOU, and the crew.
2.) Find that seated coin that has eluded me for 4 years.
3.) A shoe buckle.
4.) A nice CW relic.

With the help of you the other gents, I knocked these off of the list in 2017.

1.) First Spanish silver.
2.) First half cent (oldest dated US coin)
3.) First capped bust coin.
4.) First musket ball.

Best of luck to you this year sir!

Spend less time working and more time hunting. Find something pre-1900 and definitely not clad and get out and see what is out there to find. Good Luck and Happy Hunting in 2018 to all!

Well 2017 was a darned good year for me for coins relics and jewelry so I can't complain. My goals of 2018 are-
1. Organize my finds.
2. Organize my research and sites by priority and availability and figure out who to take where when so I never go "where should I /we go today?..."
3. Find something banner worthy that makes us go "WOW!". I have found tons of cool stuff but nothing I felt was banner worthy since I joined tnet.
4. Find Spanish silver. My best coin was stolen years ago and I figured by now I would have replaced it. I haven't and I didn't find any Spanish silver this year even though I was on some great sites where I hit it before.
5. Find a cache of silver or gold coins... ok maybe just find A gold coin. Gotta dream big though.
6. Find a few more bucket listers. I feel like I crossed off some easier ones this year so I am going to have to ramp it up. I am thinking capped bust silver for starters. Nice condition too. Not all haggered lol. That's me putting my dreams in the air.

Rub it in my boss’s face when New England wins the Lombardi Trophy for a sixth time.:headbang:

Here's to that....Go Pats!

Of course I have my outlandish wish list (tree coin, gold coin etc.) but here are my modest goals...just hoping to cross any of these off my "firsts" list in 2018:

Flying Eagle Cent
Half Dime (Capped or Seated)
Franklin Half
CC mint mark coin
Gold ring

Good luck everyone!

Find some old site permissions and dig some privies....

Upgrade to an AT Max...

Make it through a full year with no trips to the hospital... (I'm still recovering from an elbow surgery and being off work is making me crazy)

Spanish silver or us gold coin is top of my list. There are many other coins I don't have as well, but some spanish silver would be sweet.
