YouTube Video on New Minelab SDC 2300

That's just too cool!

It sure does fold up into a nice small package. Will be interesting to see it in action.

Keith, yes it does fold up into a neat little package. Here's am add in July issue of Lost Treasure. It puts the actual size into perspective without pulling out a tape measure. Brilliant advertising!

Reno, Nevada? You moved to the biggest little city in the world Steve? Haha, what happened to Anchorage? Cabelas here I come now that were neighbors

Massive sandstorm blanketed Reno the other day. Lived there for over 7 years and never saw a one but youtube/tv news had a great video that was awesome, total blackout-John

Hi Jim,

The worldwide market for the SDC may be large. As you say, we will see. I hope to take one to Alaska with me.

I will be seeing Dick and I will say hi for you. Best wishes.

I sure would love to own one.

Problem is I haven't quite found enough gold with my GMT to pay for it yet. (about 1/2 oz. at todays prices)
Would have to find 3 oz. of pure gold to pay for the SDC 2300 though. :o

I'm working on it.:icon_thumleft:

how much is this unit going to sell for?

holy sweet jumping mother of christmas!!!!
I got kids, I can't afford that! LoL!

Neat looking tool though :)

Weight is my concern as rumor has it HEAVY which makes it horrendous underwater?? Jus' a question as looked but weight seems to be missing in many places?John

Heavy is right! I have the military version which uses the same platform and it's not a lightweight or designed for ergonomic comfort. I wouldn't really call this "waterproof" either. It's good enough to be used in the rain or if you drop it in a puddle.

$3600 USD???? Seriously? The website link I just saw lists it as a mid range unit. Here is the link I just read: SDC 2300 Product Details Announced | Minelab News

Quote from the link: The SDC 2300 is a high performance mid-range gold detector.

The Minelab GPX 5000 MSLP is $5999.00 So I suppose that's what makes the SDC 2300 mid-range at around $3600 :dontknow:
Top of the line Minelabs aint fer po boys like me. :tongue3:

GG~

Thanx Steve as weight has always been posted with all other info on Kelly Co and other sites and will NOT go to minelab site ever as virus last time I tried. thanx again-Wow for that price I can put a new engine in my truck, paint the house and go on a nice vacation sic sic sic-John

Its finding some TINY gold down under right now, GMT size tiny! ... its insane for a PI..

If you're after the tiny bits without the VLF noise, this is your bet.. can't wait to get my hands on one, F!@# the cost..

Wake me up when someone who knows the detectors involved tests the SDC against a TDI SL, AN ATX with the 8" mono coil and a GoldBug 2. JP in OZ clearly prefers it to the ATX, but his level of trouble with the ATX falsing doesn't seem to be replicated by folks here in North America. NOTE I have just been reminded that a previous US reviewer had clearly noted the falsing issue. I had an ATX and used it with the coil cover. I had very little falsing, but it may vary greatly with ground conditions or there may be variation from detector to detector.

At nearly $4000 it needs to be twice as effective as an ATX and three times as effective as the the TDI SL to be worth it.

it is also compact and waterproof but it isn't light. With batteries installed, it weighs within an ounce or two of a GPX 5000 with Doc's Gold Screamer installed.
