Did a hunt in a few cities on the way to a job duty. I was hoping for a big score but only got a few 40%, but it won't happen unless you try.

I did get a "lesson" from a teller on how silver coins sound different when you drop them on the counter and it included a demonstration. I thanked her for the tip (for the 40%er and for not being a sniping teller).

$120 cwr halves: skunk
$100 mwr halves: 1-40%
$64 loose halves: 2-40%

Got a couple of boxes to go through tonight. Keep on rolling.

Last Friday a bank said they had $380 in halves, but my bank roll was down to $100 at the end of my hunt. So, I took the $100 and it was a skunk, but it had some 76 and 72 rolls with all the coins facing the same way. So, I went back for the other $280 and found some silver.

$280 cwr halves: 1-Ben, 7-40%

No solid rolls, but a solid little find. "Always buy them all" was ringing in my head on Friday, glad I went back.

Zero, how do you tell the difference between the 1976 S clad/proof, and the 1976 S silver? In a recent bag I got two 1976 S coins that look slightly different, but I don't know which is which. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Hey Gracie,

Three ways to tell the difference:

1). Silver edge (just like other 40%'s)
2). Silver clank when dropped
3). Weight is about 11.64g as opposed to 11.3g for the copper clad.

All that being said, I have a silver edged 1976s that looks and sounds like silver but weighs 11.0g. So, I am not positive it is silver but it sure looks like it. I have two others that meet all three tests.

Brinks half box #152: skunk

Avoided another skunk with a singleton 40%er. I'm hoping to get some dream boxes next month.

October silver keepers: 18

Not great but an awesome year still. Keep on rolling.

Brinks half box #154: skunk

I got a good box this week. One interesting thing to me was a hand written number on the box, 401. Coincidentally, my double dream box with 237 40% also had this same handwritten number on it. I don't know what it means but I hope to get more '401' boxes.

My boxes didn't get ordered. I did some hunting, but came out skunked.

$550 mwr halves: skunk
$340 cwr halves: skunk
$94 loose halves: skunk

Oh well...maybe next week will do me better.

Where did you go to get $900 in random halves?

I just hit a ton of banks I don't usually get around to hoping for a big score. Since I had no boxes, I tried to get an equivalent amount from cwr's and then one bank had a half box they had ordered probably to hand out to crhunters. So, I took all their mwr's for $550. Oh well, it was a bust. It won't happen if you don't try.

Found a little score while out dumping this morning. I was really just looking for $20 in clad halves to fill-up my $1000 deposit coin-lock bag, but was surprised to find some silver in one of the rolls along the way.

$30 cwr halves: 9-40%
$24 loose halves: skunk

It's really a bummer to get skunked, but I am so thankful for all the silver which has come my way this year. Keep on rolling!

Did some driving around and found some dumps but I also scooped up some 40%'s.

$980 loose and cwr halves: 13-40%

ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1448323895.452152.jpg

$480 were these rolls that looked like mwr, but they were sliced down the side and taped. I stopped opening them. It was a waste of time.

Keep on rolling!
