Man oh man. You know it's bad when you find more silver from random teller tray scores than boxes. Hope things clear up for you soon!

Those two 90%'s are a nice find from a teller since they are a bit more obvious to the lesser trained eye.

That's got to be a record for a skunk streak. At least you got a couple of silver dimes as a small consolation prize. I love finding the silver dimes.

Well.... Skunk streak up to 19 boxes. First week since I started CRH that i have been skunked for the week... I even had a teller not trade me for a silver quarter in her tray.... I wasn't mad at her, just at my luck.

To top it off I stopped at bank I hadnt been to in a while and they had $360 in cwr. one roll stood out, older looking.... And it had "Franklin" written on it. I got so excited, but all clad. So we're the remaining rolls.

I stopped my box orders because my wife and I are buying a bigger house for our growing family. All available funds on deck. Might be what I need right now a small break. I'll still hit the dines and nickels and hopefully some cwr halves.

Good luck to all,HH!

So what did that teller do when you asked for the silver quarter? Did she say, "Sorry, that's against bank policy," or "No way, I'm keeping that bad boy for myself." Strange.

She simply said no. I asked if she collected them and she said yes. I'm sure if her manager was there s/he would have $@&)! A brick but I didn't want to cause a stink.

No halves boxes this week, felt good to not get skunked... Even if it was from not searching :laughing7: I wa sable to do a little bnk hopping and found a couple of nice cwr. $420 cwr were from one search and produced 8 40%ers from 3 rolls.

The remaining $290 were from one bank I normally don't stop at. In one roll were 10 40%ers. Weird thing about this is it was a large collection dump... A few 40%ers, but at least 80% of the dump were bicentennials (no 40% bicentennials). 10 of the rolls were solid bicentennial, and the remaining rolls were all close to being solid. One of the rolls (pictured below) had "do not cash" written on it but was full of BU bicentennials.

I was really just happy to see a few silver halves. Boxes will start again mid April but if I can find small collection dumps like this who needs boxes.

Went for a drive on Friday and picked up about $1,100 in cwr.... All skunk, but did pick up a 2003s clad needed for the album. The dime boxes were very good, and nice to see the new dime boxes clearing up finally. Next week I'll start the halve box order and see what produces.

Most of the banks in my area have now moved to Garda as their coin service, moving away from Dunbar. So far the dime boxes have been great once the new stuff cleared up. I usually order loomis boxes of halves but might give the garda a try.

Either way I go, I hope to end my 19 box skunk streak on halves.

Overall a good week without boxes. I thought I had filtered through the new dimes and nickels but they are still the only thing available at most branches. The 12 40%ers from cwr were found at one bank in two rolls. The merc was just lying on the counter of the coinstar

Boxes of halves start up this week. Hope to pick up my first box in a month and hopefully end this 19 halve box skunk streak!!!

The nickels were a surprise with a war nick and 4 buffalo in one roll. Nothing special for dates and all of the buffs were scratched badly, but a fun find nonetheless.

Silver halves, quarters, dimes and nickels this week!

Best of all my skunk streak ends at 20 on the boxes of halves! :occasion14:

The '45p war nickel was odd... Pics attached. Anyone seen anything like this on a war nickel? It's slick and shiny, coated with something. I know a lot of people see state quarters like this made as a gimmick...but a war nick?

Stopped in at a Wells Fargo to see if they had any halves, they had a box in the back that hadn't been picked up in a while so they sold it to me. Best box this year, 3x40%ers and the franklin. Hadn't found one of these in a while!

The bag of halves was a bummer, thought it might be a solid find, but when I saw it I knew... But ran through it anyway. HH!

Best box by far this year with seven 90% kens! Couple beat up proofs and a gold plated halve. Dimes have continued to stay hot at about 2 per box, with an occasional skunk here and there. Also picked up this 1934 $100 federal reserve note. It's worth about $100 :laughing7:

after i saw your 03/29 i wrote "congrats. i am glad you broke your skunk streak. hopefully this will start a new non-skunk (not sure of the opposite of skunk) streak. HH" before i saw the remainder of your posts for the year. you've been doing great since then. looks like your non-skunk streak ended in a big way.
