Thanks, I don't know what this material is. It kind of has a jasper feel and look to it, it is an extremely fine grained material and it's not translucent (except the very thin edges and tip), I do know it isn't flint.
thanks for looking.

That is just totally freakin' cool! I hope I can find something that nice someday!!!

Great point ,post lots of pictures. I really enjoy looking at you finds and seeing stuff from other states. It been found in North Dakota. What is it called and the age ? It looks like what we would call a Big Sandy in TN ?

Thanks, I'd call it a Plains Side Notched (a Late Prehistoric arrow point of the Northern Plains) - date 500 - 1000 BP. I don't know what this material is. What type of material is was typically used to make a TN Big Sandy?

another banner worthy find almost same size as the trovert banner
it would look nice on the banner next to the petrified wood GEM..........BANNER!

Looking at your first pic, I bet while you were taking it you were thinking man I hope that it is not a broke? Now the pic is done and it's time to see what the dirt is hiding if anything. Adrenalin is going; you grab it and bam out comes a beauty! What a rush that can't be explained but only experienced. A find like that makes you want to go back every day. I agree with Larson, would look great on the banner next to the petrified wood point.

Thanks Trevor and yes it was (is) just as you described it. I actually video'd this find and it went just like that. The pure exhilaration when you first see it and then the moment comes when you pull it out and "Oh Baby" (right Steve?) it's a good one.

exactly my friend

i gotta post what you told me yesterday morning..."with trevors banner that makes four banner finds from one site in the last 4 years"....
now you find one exactly the same size as trevors banner point only a different color
i think your twin is banner worthy and i voted for it

i voted banner too
both are bad to the bone points
and we have not had a point up top in a wile.

Another Perfect Point! :icon_scratch: You lucky person! I looks like it's made from a black chert. Congratulations!
