Was doing some pennies with my wife tonight and this beauty popped out. Didn't even realize it was a keydate until I went to put it into my book. What do you think the condition is, I'm thinking atleast f12

I am not sure about grading but it seems like VF shouldn't be so brown, but more copper colored? 1931-33 are definitely key dates, not many minted during those years.

Wow! A '31-s! Amazing find.
Kinda hard to see the pic, but I grade it a solid XF. Coin's worth $100+.
Thanks for sharing that sweet score with us - gives all of us Lincoln searchers some hope that there are still nice coins out there.

Thanks guys. Couldn't believe it. Think I'm going to send it out to be graded

Very nice find, indeed. When it comes to wheat cent grading, it is all about the wheat ears on the reverse. The pictures are not clear enough if the coin warrants an XF grade. Keep us posted with the results if you do send it off to be graded.

Congrats!! That is a huge find - the 2nd lowest Lincoln cent. That and the 1909 S VDB are the only 2 cents that are under 1 million minted.

With that said, I would definitely send it off to be graded. The $30 it will cost you will be well worth it as it will increase the value should you ever decide to sell it.

how do I go about sending it out. Just call pcgs or the other one?

Awesome find dude.. Congrats...

You have to take it to a certified coin dealer. PCGS will not take coins from just anyone unless it comes from them.

Not sure if it is the same with the other grading services.

PCGS seems to hvae more respect than the others, so that is where i would send it. :icon_thumright: great job. Wish I found it! 8-)
