I've been absent from CRH for three weeks while work has been busy and dump banks have been few. I had the good fortune of stopping by a local credit union for work purposes. I've stopped by this place numerous times and bought coin bags from them before. I noted my absence, and one of the tellers casually noted they had someone bring in silver quarters today. That's the first time I've heard that!
She offered to pull them from the bag on the coin counter while I went about my work errands, and told me I can pick them up at my earliest convenience. So I did that. Sure enough, I walk in and there is $10 face of silver quarters in a ziploc bag. I also bought the quarter bag that was filled up previously in the day, and it's a good thing I did. It was a continuation of what was on the coin counter...another 38 silver quarters!
Total score - 72 silver Washingtons, 5 dateless SLQs, and 1 1960 Canadian. I'm buying every bag off that coin counter in the coming week just in case there is more!

That is the stuff of legends. Silver quarters are almost a myth the CRH world.

I had found 16 silver quarters through a variety of methods over the course of a year and nine months prior to yesterday. A couple were found in way too many bags. A handful was acquired from one teller at one bank until he decided to move. One I bought for melt value from a guy at my old job. One silver Canadian is still the only one I've actually found in a roll.
I'm happy to find almost five times more than that in one day!

Great find. You are one lucky duck. For sure it must have someone's collection or old coin tin can dump. Check for other denominations, maybe there is more to this find than meets the eye. Let us know if there was more to this great story find.

The bag she picked out of yesterday filled up today, and I just picked it up.
There is more.
There is a LOT more!
I'll give you an update when I get to a camera.

It is amazing that it is still out there! And you better get something nice for that teller since she told you and didn't snag it.

This makes me think there are probably some killer quarter boxes out there . You just have to get extremely lucky. That's probably where these would have ended up.

I don't have an update yet in terms of the other denominations. I've been back there twice, but the only bags they had filled up were quarter bags, which I know were separate from the collection dump. I think I've been patient enough - I'm going there this afternoon and asking if I can fill those bags up the rest of the way with my dump coin. I don't want to miss it if it's there!
