Storing found and stacked silver coins

Currently I keep my CRH finds separated by denomination in tubes. I don't sell just hunt and save.

I also for the last 30 years have been buying and "stacking" silver coins, dimes quarters halves and dollars. I keep them in coffee cans separated by denomination. However I haven't looked at most of the cans in years and decided I would do a count to see what I have.
Now I am trying to decide whether to break out the denominations by series/type i.e. Mercs Roosies, I already do that for the few barbers I have. But now I am wondering if it is really worth the work (fun!) of going through all of them and putting them in separate coffee cans.

I do separated by series Mercs from FDRs, Walking Liberty from Ben Franklin from 1964 Kennedy from 40% Kennedy.
The values are different, but the rising price of silver may completely erase that difference.

Today I was talking to my local coin dealer and he said that they are already starting to price junk silver by weight rather than denomination.

I have many Mercs and Barbers that are really thin, so now it will take 2 barbers or Mercs to equal a Roosie for weight...

To me they take up too much space in my safe. I can fit more coins in a coffee can than the equivalent number of coin tubes

They make the square type as well... they seem to be better in that case.

I can easily fit 360 halves ($180 face) in a regular small coffee can. That would be 18 tubes or square holders. I have twice that number for my CRH silver, I actually keep the CRH silver in tubes on my desk (have 40 tubes of 40% and 5 tubes of 90% I have found) so I will stack them next to a coffee can and see the difference, will post a shot, Yes I could be wrong and it will take less space but we will see. Also the cans are free.

OK, I figured out the area of a coffee can, i.e. I drew a circle on a piece of paper then put how many tubes would fit in that area, 7 fit nicely in the circle and then 3 high equals a coffee can, so 21 tubes that is 420 coins or between 20-40 more than fit in the can. Of course the cans are free, I drink coffee, and tubes cost but not that much. I use them for my CRH coins but haven't done it for my stacked junk silver.
It does make sense

All my Silver Eagles are in the tubes the mint ships them in and in a monster box...

but at the same time it is easier to reach into the bottom of my safe where I store them and pull out a can rather than 21 tubes.

Oh what to do....

Looking at tubes from my local dealer and Amazon, Amos Advantage has the best price. They have two different types of square tubes, Coinsafe and Guardhouse. Review of the Lighthouse say the tops come off too easy and often for example won't always fit 20 dollars.

Looking at my coffee cans and having figured out about how many tubes per can, I estimate I would need about 400 tubes. All my CRH are already in tubes. been stacking for over 30 years, miss the days of silver at 4.00

Like ARC, I put all of my silvers in plastic tubes, each one labeled with the denomination and design of the coin, as well as the silver content of each tube according to how many coins it holds. Example : Franklin Half Dollars

90 % silver
20 coins = 7.15 oz. silver

I have them in coffee cans each with a number on the lid then I enter them in Quicken and keep track of the total melt value of each denomination
