Its been a while since I posted or even found anything notable. The day prior to this find was a full day of finding nothing and chasing false signals, but as you all know it happens in this hobby, especially when you're trying to find new spots. It has been rough as of late but lo and behold the equilibrium of the universe was restored when it gifted me this beautiful 1853 Seated Liberty quarter! This is a first for me and now one of my favorite finds. It was at a spot where I had found an 1851 Braided Hair large cent a few months ago. I've heard this site has given up many early to mid 1800s coins and I'm envious of the first person to metal detect those grounds. Me and my buddy, who introduced me to this site, are just finding the leftovers. The area is very large and you can go days without finding a single thing. All it takes is putting your coil over just the right spot, like finding a needle in a haystack, and I just so happened to find that needle.

Side note: If you ever find Henry .44 caliber rimfire casings like the one I found just 10 feet away from this seated quarter, you know you are in the right area and you should dig every solid signal you happen upon. Almost every time I find them I find treasure.

That’s a special find. Good hunting.

amazing coin, congrats.
The Sunburst reverse is arguably now my favorite U.S. coin design. :love10::love4:

What a great find and story behind it. Your comments about not finding anything noteworthy, getting signals etc. puts things in perspective.
