Coin Depth Chart

I found this chart in a book and was wondering if you guys who aqre experts in this field think it is fairly accurate??

i really dont put much faith in depth charts. theres just too many variables dictating how deep a coin might be. ive found clad at 8 inches and large cents at two. it really depends on the soil conditions.

its a chart that is supposed to predict how deep certain coins will be found at.

thanks ... just wanted some input .... i thought I found a good one the other day at about 4" - it turned out to be a 1974 penny.

Ridiculous chart. Most of the coins from the 60's and earlier are all at least 3-4 inches deep in my soil. At one site, 70's stuff is 4-6 inches deep. Another site I found Ih's at about 2-4 inches. Yet another site indians turned up at 6-8 inches(more typical). Only thing that might be accurate is the larger stuff(half dollars) being shallower.

I'm with Mirage on this one! I've found many, many spots where coins from the 60's are sometimes as deep as 5-6"

I would love to have my 6" deep holes all yield seated coins, haha, now that would be great!

Or to find silver quarters at 2" deep..... that would be the good life!
