Here is a great method for cleaning silver artifacts. Test this on invaluables first, to get the mix right.
Silver naturally makes a compound with sulfur , the oxidation on the artifact. (like the rust on iron based material)
To remove the silver sulfide from theo silver, use aluminium, which combines with the sulfur. The silver sulfide is replaced with aluminium sulfide which is soluble in the mix.
