The wheaty is inside the bottle cap, still intombed in the dirt! right where is was when I found it 8 inches down

Nice, very nice. Impressive find. Minelab kicks ace.

I found a clad quarter inside a cap, just like your wheatie on a group hunt a few years ago with my Fisher CZ3D. Cool find. :icon_thumright:

Not really because a lot of people get fooled and dig iron thinking it's a coin. In fact, I think very experienced over confident ears would have caught a little nulling in that high tone and perhaps walked away. You never really know until you dig!

and you ARE going to leave the coin inside the bottle cap, aren't you? ::)
GREAT FIND!!! So much for masking, when it comes to your machine. Will keep your post for future reference when deciding
which machine to buy next.
AND, will begin taking all my junk home to look through. (I don't even want to think about what I have left in the field, or
thrown away into the garbage. When will I ever learn.)

Hi Rebel

I use the EXII as well. Last night I hit my local park and concentrated on a trashy area near picnic tables. Its so hot and dry that I'm avoiding turf and decided to hit only the bare dirt patches. I spent an hour and covered maybe 20 square feet. I ended up with a 20D Merc and this.....

Its two wheat cents stuck together. One is a copper 1940-something, and the other is a blasted steel wheatie (sticks to a magnet). The signal wasn't a no-brainer, but did repeat from 90 degrees and had just enough of a high warble that I decided to dig.

Mine won't even find Wheaties lately, need to light some candles, or incantations. Something.

I agree.
although If the Coin was pointing up,
It may have Helped.

Rusty caps can fool you.
They do me at times,
and I always dig them
for nice surprises.

Congrats on a Neat Surprise !

I agree, except if it's iffy, then I'd dug it. Got 2 silvers yesterday because they where iffy signals. ;D

That is just too cool, Rebel!! 8)
