Today's New Site Discovery and the Medley of Rewards
This is my first real post here as a new member, but as I said in my intro post, I've been reading the forums here for quite a while. Today was so fun that I just had to sign up and share this with you guys! I got started nice and early today. Decided to do some exploring in a wooded area very near my home. After about an hour and a half of roaming the woods I came upon (totally by chance) a stacked stone house and a HUGE barn foundation in complete ruin. I was frozen in place for a good 5 minutes as I took in the shock of finding the place. Thankfully I had fresh batteries, was on land I knew I could search freely, and had many hours to get busy. I couldn't have asked for a better situation. I gathered myself up off the floor and started right in the middle of the barn foundation. I'm not even joking when I tell you the FIRST signal I dug was the 1896 Liberty Nickel. Literally a foot from the nickel I pulled out a 1914 Wheat Penny. Aside from the nickel and dimes, I got very lucky finding both ripped halves of a 1925 PA hunting license, more than 40' apart from each other! Also finally scored a complete bell with the top and everything! I know the snow is coming soon so this was a GREAT hunt to sort of wind down the season for me. Hope you are all having fun and staying safe! -Bzy
