Bounty Hunter 505 (Loaner)
Had about an hour or so hunt today.
Found a ring near a soccer field, badly tarnished. Maybe from all the fertilizers they use
Solid 67 at 5-6 inches on the AT Pro

Thought it was a junker even though it was marked 10K Mex

Got it home and cleaned it up. Man what a difference.

It hold the 10K acid test for about 25-30 seconds then shows a hint of green. So possibly lower karat than 10K?

Thanks for looking!
James

Nice ring! It's a good thing you tested, rather than tossed it. I need to get myself one of those kits.

yep, probably discolored by the fertilizers. great find for sure. congrats!

I've been fooled many times on rings. Mostly the wrong way. Glad this worked for you. Way to go!

Nice l@@king turd. :laughing7: Classic!
Way to go on the gold bling,
MM

10k will do that sometimes. I got a class ring last year in the wet salt sand that came out of the ground the same color as your ring. I thought it was silver until I got back to the car and saw that it was marked 10k...it shined up like yours...congrats on a nice find.

Wow that thing really cleaned up.
Good job not tossing it in the junk pile!
Hmm, maybe I need to double check my pile.

Nice clean up on the ring.

Go back, check that hole and sift the dirt! The stone, or whatever was in there, may still be around!

IT PROBABLY IS A HINT UNDER 10K - MEX GOLD AND SILVER MAKERS FOR YRS BEEN KNOWN TO SHAVE A LITTLE OF THE GOOD STUFF OFF
IVE GOTTEN SILVER AND GOLD MARKED MEX OR MEXICO THAT CAME IN UNDER THE RATINGS (MARKINGS) THEY DONT OR DIDNT (ALOT OF TIMES ITS OLDER STUFF) SEEM TO BE HELD TO THE WORLD STANDARDS
IM USED TO FINDING BLACKENED AND GREEN CRUSTY GOLD - I HUNT IN SALT WATER ALOT
GOOD THNG YOU CHECKED IT

Sweet gold ! That's the best looking turd I have ever seen :laughing7:

Hells Yea!!...Glad that thing did clean up! The one I found that looked bad did the same thing on the acid test...Maybe 9.5k? :laughing7:

It may only be slightly under 10k because it held for a while under the acid. Close enough.

Nice! Amazing what a little cleaning will do! I found a bracelet that looked dirty and was minus the clasp, so I thought it was fake until I was sorting thru my "junk" and tested it. It's gold 14K!
