Daughters first time out and we hit a winner!

Finally got some time to take her out and what a first time it was!! I've been eyeballing this older park for quite some time and finally got to check it out. Its about a 8-10 acre park/field. Best part was the city finally mowed it! we scanned about 100-150 yards in making our way to the swing sets. I got this solid 30 on the Equinox 600. So we dig, she sees the coin on the plug while I'm looking int the hole. Thought it was odd since it was bigger than a quarter, got it field clean and its a James Morgan $1 coin! needless to say i was pretty excited! Daughter thought is was awesome. We found a few more coins and the brass tip to a belt is my best guess and the usual aluminum junk. Cant wait to get back to this spot, still have the soccer and baseball fields to poke around. Best part is this park is not used anymore and off the beaten path. Though I'm surprised @Loco-Digger he hasn't clean it out! or he left some for the rest of us!!

Congrats on getting out with your daughter Fuzzy535. I have only detected for a few hours in Maplewood park and across the street (Rocky River) Dr in the defunct neighborhood which was raised due to the airport. I try to stay from Cleveland and it's suburbs. You ought to hit that raised neighborhood sometime. I attached a pic of the area you might want to hunt, it's that defunct neighborhood. I'd detect the front, side and rear yards where the houses were. You can check out https://www.historicaerials.com/ to see how the neighborhood looked back in the 1980s and earlier.

Congrats to you and your daughter on your 1 dollar coin. I remember when my daughter use to detect with me, now its my 2 Grandkids ! They love it for now.
