Hello everyone!
We had a surprise move last month, and we are indefinitely house-sitting a house I used to spend a lot of time at when I was younger, which just so happens to be built in 1833, and has quite a large yard. Because it is simply in my nature, I started detecting in the yard the third day we were here, and I've been out almost every day since (and that was a month ago! and i'm still finding things!)
My cousin and I lightly covered this place back in 2012. I found an entire show buckle, a silver brooch, and a copper bracelet, and he found an 1889-S Seated dime, part of a cap gun, and a couple buttons. But I knew there had to be more here. And I was right.
The totals so far are 15 wheat pennies, 2 Indian Head pennies, 1 V nickel, 1 Buffalo nickel, 1 Civil War Token, 1 King George III Halfpenny, 8 buttons, 1 whole buckle and 2 fragments, 2 dog tags, 1 lantern top, 1 silver brooch, 2 musketballs, 2 spoons and a spoon bowl, and several miscellaneous items. It's been a very exciting and fun month here!
I'm still holding out for either a large cent or silver here! I KNOW it's gotta be here! Today I found half of a buckle, a 1909 Wheat cent, and pieces from a pocketwatch, two days ago I found a V nickle, within the last week I've found 3 buttons, 5 wheat pennies, and a bunch of other stuff. Amazing that stuff is still coming out of the ground that I missed!
Thanks for looking!
