Just got back from a trip to the SC low country for Thanksgiving and found this incredible button. Putting together some research on this one and will post more.

Definitely my best button found to date. front.webpback.webp

Found this info so far. Need to track down the single gilt back with 7 stars.

Super find. I searched and found other buttons but they weren't even close to how nice button is...

Congrats on a killer button- suspect 1830s Chatham Artillery given it was dug in SC..believe these were also worn by the Palmetto Guard

Yes, that is what I have figured out so far. Thanks!

Outstanding find. That is one rare button in great condition. Congrats

Killer button, congrats!

Wow that one is pretty awesome! Congrats!

Very nice find, congratulations

Killer save, Congrats!!

Outstanding detail but what do you expect it was dug in SC where the soil is kind to old buttons .
IMHO a personal observation , one will see more Inaug. / GW's and U*S*A gold coinage than your one off / unique , "Don't Tread on Me Snake button " !
Just saying , Congrats ...... I luv it !
