U.S. Regulation Civil War Spur

I found this at an old farm house south of Jefferson City, MO. Along with the spur I found a 1912 Barber Dime 1912D and 1920 Wheaties and a Missouri Tax token.

Im not up on my spurs,but to me that looks like the m1858 Regulation Spur.Cool find bud,I mean way cool.I like it.

That is a cool spur. The workhorse of the bunch.

Do you think the farm you are hunting has Civil War activity, or do you think the spur was impressed into service on the farm after the war?

Since I didn't find any bullets or other war artifacts I think it was used on the farm after the war but who knows for sure. I only spent about an hour on the property detecting the front yard. The owner ownes 400 acres and told me to come back any time and he would show me where there used to be other houses on the property.

That spur is in very good shape. Had an ex buddy that found one like that here in Virginia a while back. That is a very good find
