Day 3 R*pe Field & Day 4 Barley Field 4 - COOL BUTTON!

Spent 1 hour (2 man hours) on the R*pe Field with just 1 find but it was my fav of the day. A tombac button with retro incised writing 'MAPPEN WISBECH'. Wisbech is a town north of me but what is Mappen, family name or German for Map. Why would someone in the 1750s-1780s go to so much effort?

We moved to the barley field for a change of pace. (5 man hours)

I soon got a hammered of Henry III.
Dad got a copper medieval Scottish coin.
Strange piece of a large printing block
and bits.....

Nice finds!!! All of my American tombac buttons
Are void of any writing. Is that normal

Yes its normal. I have found thousands of them with no writing, this is my ONLY ONE!

Ciao Crusader...Great finds as always....
Just got wind yesterday of a supposed Celtic site near here, in North Italia, near the Swiss Border..The local lore is that it was used for "meetings" of some sort..Locals say they never saw anybody detect the area. This is the first I heard of Celtics in Italy..Is this possible?
