DAY 1
I went to a little used park with 2 volleyball courts and a tot lot. I spent 4 hours swingin the CZ21 and found 60 coins with a face value of $3.61, a pendant, an ace bandage clip, a utility pole tag, a watch band link, aluminum tie wire for fencing, can slaw, foil, aluminum bottle caps, copper wire and 21 tabs. Nothing special, but decent gas money.
DAY 2
There is a small park with 2 soccer fields that I nicknamed the Indian head penny field because every trip there (for a long time) I found at least one Indian head penny (IHP). The last 3 or 4 times I haven’t found any IHPs. This trip the field lived up to its nickname.
I spent 5.5 hours swingin the CZ21 and found 18 coins with a face value of $0.73, 2 IHPs, a wheatie, a ring, a buckle, a football spike, a cloth covered button, part of a zipper pull, aluminum bottle caps, lots of can slaw, a little foil and 54 tabs.
The ring is a cheapie unfortunately and the little 1940s type shoe buckle cracked when I rubbed the dirt off.
The Indian heads are in poor shape like usual for the ground around here. They are an 1882 and an 1867. The 1867 is not a semi key date, but it is a scarce one and worth a lot more than the average IHP. Of course in this condition it’s not worth much, but still a nice find in my book.
NON DETECTOR FINDS
We went away for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. While I was away I took my morning walks in different parking lots and for the most part they were pretty empty except for the usual tabs, bottle caps and trash. I did find a few stray coins and a large spill.
2 pennies, a nickel and a dime were all I found outside the spill. The rest of the coins were in the spill.
A wheatie was in the spill. It is a 1958D. You can see that some of the coins have been run over many time and are worthless.
I also found an interesting piece of jewelry. I’m not sure exactly what it is, but is a cheapie unfortunately.
I also spotted another cool looking tiny flower. The head of the flower with all the multiple blooms is about the size of a nickel. I see it listed as a heal-all of self-heal. The blooms look like little orchids or snap dragons.
So a decent number of eyeball coins, a hard to get Indian head and clad for another good week. I’m in the hospital for tests so no swingin this coming week. Thank you for looking, stay safe, good luck and may your coil lead you to good things.
