Got old dog tags?

Found a 1907 E St Louis tag. What is the oldest? St. Louis didn't start issuing until 1904 but I can't find info on E St Louis.

I have the newest edition of the dog tag book. In there it was 1905 listed as the oldest reported dog tax tag from East St. Louis ILL. 1895 is the oldest from St. Louis, MO.

I found this 1888 dog tag from Redwood Falls, Minnesota and it was the 14th tag issued that year. I had a guy look up in his book that was dated 2020 and apparently the only pre 1900 dog tag recorded as being found from that town is #76 from 1889. Does anyone have a newer book or different information stating what the oldest dog tag is from that town? Thank you,

I really like finding the old Dog Tax Tags.
I only collect the ones I find while metal detecting.
Have approx. (45) of them in my Relic Album.
The oldest I found so far is 1918 - a bunch from the 1930's to 1950's and up to modern day.
Here's a 1924 that I found at an old home site in the woods last month.

1842 ?? Maine Dog Tax Tag
I found this at a permission in Yarmouth Maine in the backyard of a house that was “officially” built in 1813 and owned by a very prominent family. A couple coins found here date almost 100 years earlier than 1813. Would love to hear your opinion.

Somewhere I read that the oldest known Dog License Tag know in the US is 1853.

Dude! You've found some cool old dog tags!

Currently, the oldest known San Diego tag is dated 1902.

A friend of mine and Coinshooter just found what we believe to be a 1910 dog tag. Anyone have a photo of one to see if it matches this one?

For everyone of my dogs that have passed ,I bury them with their blanket and their toys plus the collar that has their name and info on it ! This has always been a tough thing to do for me because my dogs have become a big part of our family and I'm sure other pet owners feel the same way. I even make a limestone head stone with their names and dates engraved on them. GREAT MEMORIES OF EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM !
