rosette

  1. Bridle rosette date? Military?

I dug this horse bridle rosette at a site where I've found early 19th C military uniform buttons and musket balls. This one looks to be lead filled. Anyone have info on a possible date for it? Could it have been from a military horse? Thanks
  2. Interesting finds with some local history

I took my four year old son out to the woods for a couple hours to do some metal detecting. It was quiet at first until If found a 1919 s wheatie in great shape with very little oxidation. A few feet away I found the bridle rosette. Shortly thereafter I found the trade token. I did some...

Hi folks. Hope this note finds you all well. New to forums, please forgive my azzbackwardness, that's just how I roll. I was on another forum, but can't stand the wait getting approved. Some years ago I found this object in Utah. I'm trying to get opinions on whether it could possibly be Spanish. I think it's a concho or rosette. It...
  6. Information of Calavary Rosettes.

  9. My First Heel Plate (Heart Motif)!!

Hi! I got out on Saturday for a day or hunting with one of my very good friends--NJLargeCent. He got permission to the grounds of a log cabin house that dates back to ca 1900--not ancient, but any day with nice weather and good company is a treat. The finds were a bit scarce on this property...

  11. Amazing Victorian Glass Domed Bridle Rosette!

This item first struck me as very odd when I dug it as I'm not used to digging anything metal with glass attached to it. I thought it was some sort of fancy plug or stopper and dropped it in my finds pouch. Upon cleaning it up at home, I see that the brass or copper had a nice patina indicating...
