Hey guys! A few weeks ago I got lucky enough to find some nice coins including a very nice 1856 S 50 cent piece. Well today it happened again. In one hole about an inch deep comes out a 1855 O 50cent piece as well as a 1857 S which is slightly harder to read. I'm just ecstatic right now! I also found a nice buttplate (about 16 from this site) and a trigger guard along with some musket balls and other gun parts. Any ideas on the the lead item is that has the pointy things? Found 2 at this site. Thanks for looking.

Dude I would shart my pants if I found one seated 50 center and you find two! That's amazing.

Great job on the Seated silver.

Very high on my wish list. Congrats on the seated halves.

I would have seated my pants. Awesome digs..

wow what a good find, Congrats!

That was a lot of loot to lose back in the day great recovery!

Those are some super finds :occasion14:

Now that's the way to find a buck's worth of silver!!

Christ that was a shock. I thought it was 1900's you were talking about. Then I saw the seated libs. I consider each of those once-in-a-lifetime finds but two?! Wow. Congrats and enjoy

that's just insane!, awesome old halfs!!

WOW man, you found yourself a real honey hole! It's taken me years to find just the gun parts you found in one hunt, and I never have found a Seated half dollar.

Am I the only one excited about those Kentucky or Pennsylvania rifle parts? 16 butt plates?? Did I read that right?? What the hey? Maybe you had a gunsmith near there or something. And looks like bottom just-left-of-center might be a ramrod end-thimble? And here's an interesting observation: Upper left could be a piece of rifle "furniture" like an inlay piece. On your trigger guard, the rectangular projection at the BOTTOM of the guard (in your pic) looks like there's no hole drilled in it. If not, it was never installed. And the piece under the lead with the pointy things (no idea, BTW) looks like the broken BOTTOM of butt plate #17. Dude, I'm thinking gunsmith! Those look like they came off QUALITY custom KY or Penn rifles. Nice, man! Oh yeah - nice coins.

Yeah man, send me pictures! I am almost SURE they are barrel wedges. You're in the backyard of a gunsmith's shop! You in KY or Penn??
