Hey guys! A few weeks ago I got lucky enough to find some nice coins including a very nice 1856 S 50 cent piece. Well today it happened again. In one hole about an inch deep comes out a 1855 O 50cent piece as well as a 1857 S which is slightly harder to read. I'm just ecstatic right now! I also found a nice buttplate (about 16 from this site) and a trigger guard along with some musket balls and other gun parts. Any ideas on the the lead item is that has the pointy things? Found 2 at this site. Thanks for looking.

All these gun parts (obviously NOT from a couple of dropped, discarded or abandoned guns - too many butt plates) absolutely intrigues me. And no lock plates hammers or barrels. Or RAMRODS. Very VERY weird. You already know about your ramrod thimbles, and #27 was identified . . . only thing I can add for SURE is #1. It's a for end cap for a full stock musket, appears to be for an octagonal barrel. Just blows my mind dude. Go back, find some more and post the pics. This is freaky.

Thank you for the insight and ur interest. I too cannot believe there has been ZERO barrels found. None which I feel is absolutely crazy.
