1 Hour with 1785 Silver, Ring and a 953 Porsche

Yesterday i met with some buddies to chat a little about the finds of the last month and have some beer...while we were talking one mentioned that a field we hunted several times is ploughed. We got romans to euros from this field before, so we went off for a short hunt. Its nearly hunted out but after the plough You can start again and this was no exeption. We had some coins, a beautiful medieval wax seal, some buttons, usual lead and casings. Here are some pics of my finds. The silver is a prussian 1/24 Thaler, a cheap ring 18th century, the button a little newer, "London Gilt" on the back and the porsche is rolled over....

I live near the dutch and belgium border, right in the middle of the rhineland. Everything from celts to WWII.
...will tell You on the way to paris....
Always enjoy Your posts, especially with the hunts at the castle site. Castles are off limits here. They will hung You on the next tree....

I worked in Baumholder, near Idar-Oberstein for one year, really liked the area but hated being away from home and the travel time. I had a permit, got it through the Trier museum. It took me all that year to find anything exciting, finally on my very last day there, I detected a plowed field in the rain and found 9 Roman bronzes from Constantine or his sons from 330 AD. It is a field just outside of Wolfersweiler to the NE of town, the field is actually in Saarland and there is a marker for the border, then the field starts. The farmer gave me permission as well and is a good person. If you want to go there and need more info let me know. HH, Mike

Thanks all! I was hoping for some medieval, but this time i had no luck. The seal from my hunting buddy is 14th-15th century. Try to get a pic. Still waiting for the new fields i got permission to...

Mike... I bet Your talking bout the field near "Roemerstrasse" its not really nearby, but i will be pleased for some details.
