Had a great short 1 hour hunt today and boy was I suprised to see this bad boy pop out! Along with the 1 troy oz of fine .999 fine silver coin (unfortunatly in pieces..darn lawnmower) I found a nice 1926 S Wheaty, a 44 S Wheaty, a 1944 S Nickel (Second War Nickel this week!), and a really cool jockey on a horse pennant. Enjoy the pics.

Nice Silver :hello2:
first bullion I've seen dug

If it were'nt for the lawnmowers how could you swing, guess ya gotta take the Bad with the Good!!!!

The most interesting part of your post was that you found both pieces of the coin. Good for you!

When I first joined a metal detecting club in the '80s, met an old-timer who had found some really good stuff.

One of the things he let me look at, and later gave me, was half of a Jefferson Medal that Lewis & Clark were giving out in during the Corp of Discovery. Made of silver. Originally made in 2 pieces that snapped together. He had found only one piece.

thats a real neat piece of silver-congrats

it's funny that it still weighs more than a troy oz even after being mangled!

SWEEET FIND!!!
