10 Year Old's First Find

Found in a dry creek bed in the Heth township of Harrison county Indiana. The chert this is made from matches the chert found on the property. All I can say is I am very proud of him and a little bit jealous. Any additional info about the piece would help greatly as he will be doing a poster on this find for 4-H. Thanks in advance!

Not sure how it would be typed in your area, but down this way, it would probably be called a Bolen. Seems to have an impact fracture, so in my book, it's all there. I'm digging the color too. Congrats to your son on a great find!

That's a great point!! He's off to a good start. Tony

Very nice point with the impact fracture that means it broke while it was being used probably broke while hunting. They didn't usually dig the point out of dinner rather just cleaned it and carried it back home.

Good for him!!!
