100 year old + coin purse today & only 1 coin
Went for a short hunt today at Phillips Park. There's a nice old area there that's void of any clad but layered with pulltabs down to 6". We've pulled some IH's from this area so I decided to slow
way down and grid a sunken low patch of ground. The only decent signal in a 10' x 10' area
was 7" down but seemed too big for a coin. I went for it thinking a can top but hoped for the best. Out comes the remains of a silver plated coin purse, but no material or leather left at all.
After saying a prayer I rescan the hole a get a solid tone a bit deeper down and after 2 more
scoops, up pops a 1880 IH. I'd like to think the coin was in the purse at one time but I'll never know for sure..
